100 Years of Music Celebration

Our church’s first adult singing choir was officially established in 1920, thus beginning the journey of First Church’s music ministry.  We have reached year 100 and in that time many leaders and volunteers have served by sharing their musical gifts for the glory of God in worship, concerts, and special events.

This year we plan to highlight a few areas of our Music Ministry.  We will celebrate with a handbell concert at the end of May, have a “Great Singing Sunday” during worship in August, have a Chancel Choir reunion of sorts during worship (likely in September), and end the year with our Madrigal Dinner.

During the course of the year we will highlight some of the history of our Music Ministry and some of the instruments we are blessed with, such as the harpsichord, handbells, and organ.

The people at First Church have always supported this ministry to glorify God in numerous ways.   We have also been graciously blessed with many musicians willing to generously give their time and talent.  It is because of all of you that we are able to celebrate!  We look forward to celebrating 100 years of the Music Ministry with all of you.
