Awana – New Ministry Initiative

Welcome Awana Clubbers

First United Methodist Church of West Allis is very excited to be able to offer the nationally recognized AWANA Club program for young people ages three through sixth grade. AWANA is an acronym taken from the Bible verse 2 Timothy 2:15: Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.

Our club meets on Wednesday evenings at the FUMCWA during the school year from 6:15-8:00pm, October 16, 2019 thru May 27, 2020. Children are challenged both spiritually and physically in a fast-paced learning environment geared toward their age level. For children ages three and four, there is the Cubbies program; for kindergarten through second grade, the Sparks program; and for grades three through six, the “Truth and Training” program.

Each evening is divided into three structured and supervised events: Game time, where boys and girls compete as teams and are encouraged to develop physical skills as well as good sportsmanship; handbook time, where children recite Bible verses learned at home and gain understanding as to what those verses mean to them personally; and council time, where stories and guest speakers challenge the boys and girls with spiritual lessons. As the AWANA pledge states, the AWANA Club goal is “to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ, and to train them to serve HIM.” Come out and be part of the fun!
