Awana

This fun Bible Club for children ages 3K to Grade 8 meets on Wednesday evenings at FUMCWA during the school year from 6:15-8:00 pm, beginning September 13. Children are spiritually and physically challenged in a fast-paced learning environment geared toward their age level. There is the Cubbies program for children ages three and four; for kindergarten through second grade, the Sparks program; for grades three through six, the “Truth and Training” program; and for grades 7 and 8, the Trek program. Please spread the word and invite other families to join us as we begin year five. As the AWANA pledge states, the AWANA Club’s goal is “to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ, and to train them to serve HIM.” Come out and be part of the fun! Registration forms are available on the website, by contacting the church office, and in the narthex. If you have any questions, want more information, or want to volunteer to help, please contact Deb Semrad at 414-774-5500 or jdsemrad@att.net

Welcome Awana Clubbers

First United Methodist Church of West Allis is very excited to be able to offer the nationally recognized AWANA Club program for young people ages three through eighth grade. AWANA is an acronym taken from the Bible verse 2 Timothy 2:15: Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.

Our clubs meet on Wednesday evenings at the FUMCWA during the school year from 6:15-8:00pm, September through May. Children are challenged both spiritually and physically in a fast-paced learning environment geared toward their age level. For children ages three and four, there is the Cubbies program; for kindergarten through second grade, the Sparks program; for grades three through six, the “Truth and Training” program; and for grades 7-8, the Trek program.

Each evening is divided into three structured and supervised events: Game time, where boys and girls compete as teams and are encouraged to develop physical skills as well as good sportsmanship; handbook time, where children recite Bible verses learned at home and gain understanding as to what those verses mean to them personally; and large group time, where stories and guest speakers challenge the boys and girls with spiritual lessons. As the AWANA pledge states, the AWANA Club goal is “to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ, and to train them to serve HIM.” Come out and be part of the fun!
