Give Online through our partnership with VANCO, a secure and trusted payment specialist.
If we were able to take a second to let the noise of life around us subside, we might then be able to hear the call of how we can make a difference in the lives of those around us.
How might we be able to:
- Help a child grow closer to God?
- Feed the hungry?
- Comfort those in sorrow?
- Invite someone to worship?
In that quiet moment we might be able to hear how we are being called. We are blessed to be a part of a worshiping community that continues to answer the call and minister to the needs of our community and our world around us. The ministry of First United Methodist Church is funded by God’s provision through the tithes and offerings of faithful members, friends, and attenders of First United Methodist Church.
If you would like to honor the Lord by contributing to this ministry, you can do so in three main ways:

If you would like to make a gift that creates a lasting legacy you may through our Scholarship and Endowment Fund.
The Scholarship and Endowment Fund board is entrusted to carry on the mission of Jesus Christ with the funds that are given to the fund with an emphasis to provide support for scholarships, and additional mission and church needs beyond and outside of the annual budget.
The money given may become a living memorial in which the principal is invested and the interest becomes available to promote the religious, charitable and benevolent functions of the church. Because only the interest is disbursed, gifts renew themselves approximately every ten years, perpetually. Grants are made upon request after review by the directors. Unrestricted gifts may also be given.
Some of the ways generously donated funds have benefited the church include:
- funding staff continuing education
- support of new church programs
- scholarships for students in our community
Please contact the Pastor with any questions or for more information.
Special gifts are our response to appeals for a one time gift to support a special project. These projects are not included in the church’s annual budget. Three examples of special gifts are:
- Gifts for natural disaster relief such as the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes
- Gifts to support an unfunded ministry such as The Greater Milwaukee Free Clinic or our Thanksgiving Baskets
- Gifts to a special project at church such as a new boiler
Gifts to any special requests like the above are best made by check with the designation written in the memo field. These may be mailed to the church or placed in the offering plate during worship. In some cases you may be able to give online through our online giving page. This is possible if a special account has been created on our online giving page for the request.
Another kind of special gift is a donation in memory of a loved one, often at a funeral. The family often designates these gifts for a special purpose. They are held in our Memorial Fund until used.
