Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School will always be held the third week of July each summer. This will help you when planning summer vacations. We hope that you will mark the week on your calendar.

Please join us for the 2019 Vacation Bible School –July 15-19, 2019—9:00am to 12:00pm.

All children ages 3 through 5th grade are invited! VBS will be held at First Church this year.

The children and adults of Apostle Presbyterian, First United Methodist and Mount Hope Lutheran will blast off together and will be the first VBS to land on Mars. To Mars and Beyond has out-of-this-world music, exciting science, creative crafts, fun recreation and timeless Bible stories that will inspire kids to give glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine. One small step for kids…One GIANT LEAP FOR GOD’S KINGDOM!

GLORY TO GOD, WHO IS ABLE TO DO FAR BEYOND ALL THAT WE COULD ASK OR IMAGINE BY HIS POWER AT WORK WITHIN US!  EPHESIANS 3:20

VBS is a free weeklong event. Registration forms will be mailed to church families in June.  VBS registration forms will also be available in the Narthex and in the church office. You can also print forms from the church website.

Print, complete, and mail the two forms below to First United Methodist Church to register your children:

Registration Form/Medical and Emergency Information Form

Please return the student registration forms to the church office by July 1, 2019.

Each day at VBS, the children will learn Bible verses, act out Bible stories, sing contemporary biblical music, watch and participate in skits, create crafts, play games in recreation, take part in a mission project, do science activities, and have a healthy snack. Nursery care will also be provided.  Adults are invited to join the Adult VBS Study.

Each family who registers will receive a free TO MARS AND BEYOND music CD.

The VBS Voyagers will explore God’s power at work within them. The Voyagers will discover ways to serve others and God. Our mission project will be the Hope Closet. The Hope Closet is a ministry that provides new clothing for children and their families who are in need. The Hope Closet receives referrals directly from the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District.

We ask that all of our VBS Voyagers bring some change each day that will be collected during the opening session for the mission project-The Hope Closet.

On Thursday evening from 6:30pm -7:30pm, the children will present a VBS program with word and song. Afterward, all will enjoy an ice cream treat. And on Friday, the wonderful week of new friends and learning will end with a lunch.

To get started on this out-of-the world adventure, come to the Assembly Area Outpost on Mars (First United Methodist Church 7520 West Lapham St.) where we will lift-off each day to distant planets on special missions.

To register for the TO MARS AND BEYOND VBS Adult Study, contact leader Cathy Hinrichs (414-614-7055) by July 1 and leave a message. The adults will join the VBS kids for the opening, snack time and closing.

All ages will LIFT OFF TOGETHER!
