Rev. Dr. Samuel (Sam) J. Royappa

Lead Pastor

I was ordained in The Methodist Church in India. Having served with and through The Methodist Church in India for 16 years (1983-1999), I moved into USA to pursue theological education through a doctoral program called “The Beeson International Leadership” at Asbury Theological Seminary, KY. Upon completion, I have been with the Wisconsin Annual Conference, having served two United Methodist Congregations (West Bend: Fifth Avenue UMC and Wausau: Wesley UMC), as a District Superintendent for two districts (Capital and Coulee) and as a Director of Connectional Ministries last four years. I am blessed with my wife (Shanti), a daughter (Shalom), two sons (Shobi and Selwyn), a son-in-law (Nelson) and two granddaughters (Adana and Emma). Sam rides motorcycle. He loves to read books, mostly related to leadership and spiritual formation. His wife and he enjoy watching movies both English and South Indian. He claims to be one of the best Indian Tea/Chai makers. His cooking skills are limited but likes to watch cooking channels, mostly ethnic foods. sroyappa@fumcwa.org
