Local Missions

September Second Saturday Servants

As Fall Begins, So Does Our Casserole Call!
Thanks to your faithful efforts, we served 147 hungry neighbors in August—what a beautiful testament to your generosity and care. As the mornings grow cooler, our need for hot breakfast casseroles continues. Please bring your warm, ready to-serve casseroles to the church kitchen by 7:45 am on Saturday, September 13. Our efficient team of volunteers will be ready to pack them up and deliver comfort in every bite. Thank you for being part of this nourishing ministry. Your kindness makes all the difference.

Coins of Love

The Coins of Love will support the Thanksgiving Food Basket Ministry, a mission we are proud to continue. We have already started planning and preparing. If you are not familiar with this ministry, we have been giving food to families in the West Allis area for Thanksgiving for over 50 years. We receive names of families who are having financial difficulties from WA/WM schools as well as from our church members. Each family receives a turkey and other food needed to prepare a Thanksgiving meal. Each basket costs $65.00. The goal again is to give Thanksgiving Baskets to 180 families. This ministry is funded mainly by donations from this congregation. We hope that you will give generously.

July’s Coins of Love – WA/WM School Supplies for Kids – $842.30
August’s Coins of Love – The MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary – $313.86

Wesleyan Congregational Care Team

Greetings from your Wesleyan Congregational Care Team (WCCT). We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. Our weather in Wisconsin has been relatively calm. We can’t say the same for the rest of our country. Hearing about  all the destruction, devastation, and loss of innocent lives can bring about some deep emotional feelings and cause us to have a lot of questions in our hearts.
If you are struggling with these emotions or having any other personal struggles that you believe talking with and praying with someone would help, we are here for you. The care team at the WCCT is comprised of trained, caring professionals who are here to walk with you through any of life’s difficult moments. We promise to hold your concerns in deepest confidence and with compassionate care.
To connect with one of our care team members, please reach out to Pastor Grace, Laura Molleson, or the church office.

Prayer Chain Team

Our Prayer Chain Team connects us through prayer. To join this ministry, contact the church office. You’ll receive prayer requests via email and be asked to pray for them daily. Submit prayer requests by contacting the church office. Updates on prayer requests are also welcomed.

Recycle Socks and Raise Funds for Northcott Neighborhood House

We will continue collecting holey socks for a spring shipment. Please help us spread the word to your neighbors and co-workers, encouraging them to clean their sock drawers and upcycle their old socks. The funds raised will support local employment training programs at the Methodist Church. Thank you!
